Bear, the deuteragonist of the series, is the best friend of Franklin Turtle, oldest child of Mr. Bear and Dr. Bear, and big brother of Beatrice Bear. He is voiced by Cody Jones and later Marc McMulkin.
As a member of the Super Cluepers, Bear is known as Mega Bear.
Looks[]
He is a dark brown Grizzly or Kodiak bear who wears a blue vest, though the vest is absent in the first two seasons of the Franklin TV series, as well as the book releases not based on material from the TV series. In the original television series, the buttons on the vest are dark blue, but are bright yellow in Franklin and Friends.
Personality[]
Bear is Franklin's best friend and tends to be extremely loyal to him, to the point where any rift between them is treated as serious business. He tends to value trust and loyalty, as well as routine, and can become very upset when these things are disrupted. He tends to be a fairly big eater, but does not like to have this pointed out. He is at first bothered when his little sister Beatrice is born and she does not seem to value him, but comes to become a loving big brother. He sometimes acts as Franklin's conscience, helping him to see right from wrong. Franklin will sometimes share things with him that he wouldn't with anyone else, such as his nightmare of the tree fort falling down with them in it after the branch holding it develops a crack.
Trivia[]
- Bear is greatly arachnophobic (afraid of spiders), as seen in "Franklin and the Thunderstorm."
- Bear is the only one of Franklin's friends to be in absolutely every Franklin film, including the Christmas one.
