Blue blankie in trunk

Blue blankie is a comfort object belonging to Franklin and later his sister Harriet.

In "Franklin's Blanket," Franklin loses the blanket, which he can barely sleep at night without. He visits the homes of all of his friends, searching for it, before finally discovering it tucked away at home, filled with Brussels sprouts, which he hid due to his dislike of the vegetable.

In Franklin and the Green Knight, Franklin sobs into the blanket during the baby shower for Harriet, upset that nobody is paying him attention. He later uses blue blankie as the cape of his Green Knight costume and to carry the cherry blossoms he believes will bring spring to Woodland.

In Back to School with Franklin, when Harriet is sad about Beatrice going to school and not being able to go herself, he gives blue blankie to Harriet to help her feel better, telling her "All you have to do is hug it." Harriet later tries the same trick of hiding Brussels sprouts in the blanket, with less success. After learning that she accidentally injured Kit, spraining his ankle, she gifts the blanket to him when he cries about not being able to go outside, telling him to keep it for as long as he needs. After he is better, he returns it to her and the two play tag.
