Franklin's Test is the first story in the thirteenth and final episode in the second season of Franklin.
Plot[]
Franklin readies himself for the school spelling test, but he cheats on the last word. Full of guilt, Franklin confesses to Mr. Owl.

- Mr. Owl: "Well done! All right, you all know how to read our new words. Let’s see how many we can spell. Who would like to go first?"
- Franklin and his friends: "I will go first./Me, me, me!"
- Bear: "I will do it, it’s easy!"
- Mr. Owl: "Bear, let's see you give it a try. All right Bear, spell the word Daisy."
- Mr. Owl: "Well Bear, we are trying to learn to spell from memory. I'll give you a little hint, the next letter is an I".
- Bear: "I… Oh, yeah! (spells the word, Daisy) D-A-I-S-Y! Daisy!"
- Mr. Owl: "Absolutely right, Bear! Well done! Now, who’s next? (seeing Goose spell a word from memory) Very good, Goose!"
- Mrs. Turtle: (tsks) "I can see one word that could use a little bit more practice."
- Franklin: "Where? Which one? Show me!"
- Mrs. Turtle: (referring to the object labeled "pensil") "This one. 'Pencil' is spelled P-E-N-C-I-L."
- Mr. Owl: "All correct. (praising to Franklin) Very good! Congratulations and enjoy your pen! You’ve earned it."
- Franklin: "(happily) I did it, Bear! I've got a pen!!!"
- Bear: "Nice going, Franklin! Keep your fingers crossed for me."
- Bear: "(sees the word Pencil on a sticky note) Pencil?"
- Franklin: "I just had it in my hat for good luck."
- Bear: "But did you look at it during the test?"
- Franklin: "(lying) I peeked at one letter, that’s all."
- Bear: "(unhappily) But that’s not fair, Franklin! That’s cheating."
- Franklin: "What should I do?"
- Dad: "That's something you should decide. But I think you know inside what would make you feel better."
- Franklin: "I know I shouldn’t have done it. It’s just that I really wanted to win one of those pens. But now I think you should have it back."
- Mr. Owl: "Hmmmmm... Sometimes we think too much about rewards and not enough about what it takes to earn them."
- Franklin: "Like I thought more about getting the pen than learning how to spell."
- Mr. Owl: "Exactly! Tell you what - (holds Franklin's pen) I’ll hold onto this for a while. After all, there will be more tests."
- Franklin: "Thanks, Mr. Owl. Next time, I’ll win it fair and square!"

- The morals of this episode are:
- It's not fair to cheat on others' work (e.g. homework, tests/exams, etc.).
- Sometimes, he or she can think too much about rewards and not enough about what it takes to earn them, as said by Mr. Owl.
