Franklin is a multimedia franchise focused on the adventures of the character Franklin Turtle, his family and friends, created by the author Paulette Bourgeois and illustrator Brenda Clark. Beginning in 1986 with the book Franklin in the Dark, it has since grown to encompass a multi-billion dollar franchise including a book series, two animated television series: Franklin and Franklin and Friends, tie-in book releases, computer and video games, theatrical productions, music albums and various pieces of merchandise including plush toys, model figures, dinnerware, bedding, personal hygiene products and even perfume and underwear.
