Franklin Figure Skates is the second story in the thirteenth and final episode in the sixth and final season of Franklin and the series finale.
Plot[]
Franklin is reluctant to admit to his hockey team that he can't skate backwards. When Beaver finds out, she strikes up a deal with him; if Franklin will help her practice her figure skating routine, she'll teach him to skate backwards. Later, Franklin's ability to skate backwards is put to the test when he fills in for Beaver's injured partner at a figure skating show.
Trivia[]
- In this episode, the background music that plays from the radio and the stadium speakers is "Dance of the Mirlitons" and "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" from Peter Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker suite, when Franklin, Raccoon (who was injured towards the climax of this episode) and Beaver are doing their skating routine.
- This background music is also heard in "Franklin's School Play".
- In this episode, Bear, Rabbit, and Beaver are all shown wearing ice-skates when they skate on the frozen pond and on the ice-skating rink. In Franklin and the Green Knight, however, they are shown ice-skating on the frozen pond with just their bare feet.
- This is the last season in the original Canadian English version by Nelvana.
- This is also the last season in the British English style redub recorded at Ten Pin Alley in Gloucester, England.
- This is the final episode of the original series, however, it would be followed by the film Franklin and the Turtle Lake Treasure and the CGI animated spinoff series Franklin and Friends.
