Granny Turtle is the paternal grandmother of Franklin and Harriet Turtle, the mother-in-law of Mrs. Turtle and the mother of Mr. Turtle, Lucy and Aunt T.
She’s voiced by Corinne Conley.
Plot[]
She loves Franklin and spends a lot of time with him, but also has other interests. She is featured prominently in the film Franklin and the Turtle Lake Treasure, where she wore glasses. Franklin at first sometimes didn't want to spend time with her, but came to find her interesting after learning of her various pastimes and the interesting stuff in her attic. Granny Turtle was also Franklin's regular babysitter, though when she was unavailable, Mrs. Muskrat filled the role instead.
Personality[]
She is generally warm and kind, and enjoys spending time with Franklin. She is known to have a humorous streak - for example, when Mr. Turtle comments that he hopes Franklin didn't tire her out, she puts on a quavering voice and asks where her cane is, despite not walking with a cane.
Trivia[]
- It is stated that she presumably got shorter compared to her son in her first appearance in the episode "Franklin's Granny".
- Mr. Turtle is her oldest child and her only son.
- Lucy is her middle child and older daughter.
- Aunt T. is her youngest child and second daughter.
- While this is never confirmed, Franklin's grandfather (her husband) is never mentioned and seen only in a photograph in the episode "Franklin's Family Treasure," so it is assumed she is either a widow or divorced.
- In the books, she wears glasses.
