Great Aunt Harriet has been mentioned on the TV show, but never seen. She has appeared in at least one Franklin book, Franklin's Christmas Gift and is rather old and wears glasses. She is known for giving great gifts filled with love. In both the TV show and the books, Franklin names his little sister Harriet in honor of her. It appears that she could be the older sister of Grandma Jenny Turtle or Grandfather Turtle. She is apparently Mrs. Turtle's aunt, as she gave her the storybook of The Quest of the Green Knight when she was a child.
In Franklin and Friends, she is also stated to be a great explorer, and not the elderly woman depicted in Franklin's Christmas Gift. She is said to still be an active, world-traveling adventurer. In Polar Explorer, she provides Franklin and the Turtle family with an heirloom key that opens a special navigation bar.
