Kit is Beaver's younger brother and Harriet's best friend, introduced in Back to School with Franklin. Kit is 3 years old, just like Harriet.
Kit is voiced by Amanda Soha.
History[]
Harriet first encounters Kit as she is finishing helping Mrs. Turtle to bag leaves for recycling. He is out with Mrs. Beaver and hides his face in Mrs. Beaver's fur when Mrs. Turtle tries to talk to him. Harriet tries to engage him in a game of tag, but he does not play along and Mrs. Beaver tells her that they're on their way to see Dr. Bear. "Check-e-up," explains Kit. Mrs. Turtle suggests maybe some other time.
Later, when Harriet is bothered by Beatrice being in school and not being able to play with her, Mrs. Turtle suggests calling Mrs. Beaver and having her bring Kit to the playground. However, Harriet has trouble engaging with the shy and hesitant Kit. She ends up shoving him down the slide by accident. She gets a scraped elbow and although Kit at first seems only startled, she later learns that he sprained his ankle.
Harriet visits Kit at home, apologizing for hurting him. She shows him her bandaged scrape. He asks Mrs. Beaver if they can go out and play, but she tells him he has to rest. He sniffles, saying he wants to go out. Harriet asks if he's sad, and he admits that he is, tears in his eyes. She gives him Franklin's blue blankie that he gave to her, telling him all he has to do is hug it. He does so and seems comforted, then drifts off to sleep, Mrs. Turtle commenting that it looks like blue blankie's working already.
As Harriet is putting the finishing touches on a picture of herself together with Kit, she hears Mrs. Beaver's musical voice outside. Kit calls for her too. She races outside, asking if he's all better. He nods, and she shows him that she is too, that the scrape is healed. Kit thanks her and returns blue blankie, asking if she wants to play. She asks him what and he tags her, beginning a playful chase filled with laughter.
Personality[]
Kit tends to be rather shy and clingy, but seems to have come out of his shell a bit after meeting Harriet Turtle, who learns how to be kind to others. Although he hasn't been seen together with Beaver, he seems to look up to her, as her going to back to school after summer vacation put him somewhat out of sorts.
Appearance[]
He has six facial whiskers like his sister and mother. He has only a single visible tooth. His primary fur coloring is somewhat lighter than that of his mother or sister.
Trivia[]
- Kit has never been depicted or mentioned outside of Back to School with Franklin and it is unclear if he exists within the continuity of the spinoff Franklin and Friends.
