Mr. Turtle is the husband of Mrs. Turtle, the father of Franklin Turtle and his little sister Harriet, the older brother of Lucy and Teeny, and the oldest child and only son of Granny Turtle. He is voiced by Richard Newman throughout both series, although a flashback in "Franklin's Father" has him voiced by Noah Reid, the then-voice of his son, as a kid, and similarly, in one in "Franklin's Soccer Field Folly," he is presumably voiced by Cole Caplan, the then-voice of Franklin, again as a kid.
Plot[]
He and Mrs. Turtle both first met each other when they were kids. He is known to fix things and repair broken stuff around the house, though he often struggles when it comes to plumbing. Franklin's father provides advice to Franklin and his sister Harriet. He and Franklin occasionally play sports, go on outings, and play golf, which Mr. Turtle is fairly good at, although Franklin finds the sport rather challenging. In Franklin and Friends (2011), he usually plays a guitar.
Mr. Turtle grew up in Woodland and attended school with many of the other characters seen as adults in the series, such as Mr. Mole and Mrs. Skunk. This is opposed to Mrs. Turtle, who grew up on Faraway Farm.
Trivia[]
- Mr. Turtle can play the guitar [1].
- Mr. Turtle's favorite sport is golf.
- In the books illustrated by Brenda Clark, Mr. Turtle could be told apart from his wife by a pair of glasses, as she wore none. In the television series, the easiest way to tell them apart is that Mrs. Turtle normally wears a purple necklace.
