
Raymond K. "Ray" Parker (not to be confused with Ray Parker, Jr. who sang the Ghostbusters theme song) is a Canadian composer and musician who is one of the music composers and the keyboardist for the background music of Franklin, as well as the films Franklin and the Green Knight, Franklin's Magic Christmas, Back to School with Franklin and Franklin and the Turtle Lake Treasure. Outside of the show, Parker composed the music of many TV series for a young public such as The Adventures of TinTin, the animated version of Ace Ventura - Pet Detective, the animated version of Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock, the original Care Bears series, and Fievel’s American Tales. In addition to that, he also composed the music of several documentary specials for Discovery Channel and the CBC. Ray Parker had spent 45 years in the music industry as an award-winning writer and studio session keyboard player.
Based in Toronto, Canada, Ray Parker has original songs for a number of live-action, animation, commercial and radio projects. He has been producing and performing with a variety of different artists over the years, including Aretha Franklin, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Dionne Warwick, Smokey Robinson, KD Lang, Peggy Lee, Rita MacNeil, The Rankin Family and many others.
In the 1980s he co-founded production company/studio Acrobat Music with Tom Szczesniak and Jim Morgan. In 1993, he and Szczesniak founded Parker/Szczmith Music Inc. (pronounced "Parker Smith") in Toronto.
