Skunk is one of Franklin's friends. Skunk is frequently seen with Badger, Beaver, or Goose. Skunk is 6 years old.

She is voiced by Annick Obonsawin in the original series and Katherine Forrester in Franklin and Friends.

Plot[]

Skunk once broke her arm riding a bicycle, and Franklin learned from her what it was really like to wear a cast in "Franklin's Not-So-Broken Bone".

In "Franklin's Party Plans", Franklin and his friends thought that Skunk was moving away. It turned out, though, that she was just moving a block from her old home, which was alright. Skunk herself, however, was still very upset about it, as she had lived at her old home all her life.

In "Franklin and the Swimming Party", Skunk cannot swim and was upset when everyone learned about this.

Franklin tutors Skunk in hockey after discovering that she wants to play but cannot play as well as him and his other friends.

In Franklin and Friends, Skunk is largely absent until towards the end of the series in "Super Clueper's Case of the New Friend." She is said to be homeschooled and rather shy, like real-life skunks. By puzzling out clues, Franklin and his friends are finally able to meet her. She and her family have only just moved to Woodland. Her parents are apparently touring musicians. This represents one of the biggest changes from the original series. Notably, Skunk appears in the program's intro sequence from the first season, suggesting that she was originally planned to be a more regular character, but for some reason her role was removed.

Personality[]

Skunk is a friendly, lively, energetic and odorless skunk with an outgoing nature, but she can come off as air-headed sometimes. At first, Skunk was a withdrawn and shy girl, but then, as she got to know Franklin and his friends, Skunk tries to be as helpful as she can.

Catchphrases[]

  • "I’d (really) like that!" (1997 series; a few episodes)

Trivia[]

  • Despite not being part of Franklin's normal circle of friends, the two are generally quite friendly with each other.
  • Skunk can play the flute [1], the xylophone [2] and the drum [3].
  • She is one of the few skunks in animated kids' TV history who doesn't let off odor.
    • In this case Skunk is odorless, and is glad Franklin and his friends do not tell jokes like this towards her; in real life, skunks only smell when they've been spraying.
  • If one counts Squirrel and Snail, she would be the third youngest of all the Woodland kids.
  • Skunk's favorite color is white.
  • Despite not being introduced in Franklin and Friends until the final episodes, she can be seen in the show's intro sequence in all episodes, at 0:31. It is unknown why she was not a regular character for the series, despite appearing in the show's intro.
